Committee
Lee Downer MIoL CMILT
Lee has been the Club Chairman in excess of ten years.
Outside of the Club he is a member of the Institute of Leadership and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and is the Fleet Manager of a local waste management company, responsible for the legal compliance of a fleet of over 100 heavy goods vehicles and drivers.
He is married to Lizi and in 2022 they celebrated their Pearl wedding anniversary. Lee also enjoys a very keen interest in aviation.
Ian Lasseter
Born in Portsmouth, Ian lives in Fareham with his wife Lisa and their daughter. He works for a local steel fabrication company.
In his own time Ian likes all sports and enjoys walking the dog. He is a big fan of cooking and especially enjoys trying his hand at Indian cuisine.
If he won the lottery he says he would help to look after those less fortunate than himself.
Jackie Crabb
Jackie is our Club Treasurer and previously served on the Committee.
She is responsible for keeping the Club accounts in good order and carries out her duties efficiently. She is a keen darts player and captains and plays for one of the DOC’s teams.
Jackie is a great lover of all things to do with tigers and at home, much of her time is spent spoiling her cat. If she won the lottery, she would buy a beach house with a boat, somewhere hot!
Michele Sherwood
Michele spent many years in the world of palliative care as a Manager with the task of training others to her own high standards.
She is now an Accounts Manager for a printing company. Her hobbies are mainly reading, "way too much" she says!
If she won the lottery, she says she would insure Colin her dog, as dogs are more likely to get kidnapped for ransoms of rich people!
Bridget Malcolm
Bridget is currently our Membership Secretary and she has also served on the Committee between 2017 and 2021 at which point she took up the position of the Clubs Doorperson, thus appearing twice on this page.
Whilst no longer a Committee member, Bridget still volunteers to help out with all manner of events, including to help run and play bingo on a Sunday evening. In her spare time she plays darts for the DOC ‘A’ team.
Outside of the Club, Bridget enjoys gardening and spoiling her Grandchildren.
Annie Harrop
Annie has been on the Committee for the past seven years and for three years served as the Club Secretary.
She also served previously on the Entertainments Sub-Committee.
Annie was a keen reading enthusiast until eye problems became an issue. She was also a keen walker and enjoyed trips to the theatre.
Tim McBride
Tim has been on the Committee previously and is back for more!
Previously a member of the Armed Forces, Tim enjoys Taekwondo. He has partaken for over 20 years and boasts two artificial hips for doing so! He has two children and is also a lover of animals.
Jack Craven
Jack has been on the Committee previously and decided to return and offer his help and experience.
Working within the construction industry for many years has given Jack an all round knowledge of the building and construction sector. In his spare time, Jack is a keen metal detectorist and enjoys clay pigeon shooting.
Colin Eden
Colin is an HGV driver currently moving bulk aggregate around the south coast of England.
His hobbies include darts and rugby and he enjoys visiting Twickenham when possible to cheer on the England Ladies.
Dedicated to serving the Club in any way possible, Colin says that if he won the lottery, he would send his Mum on lots of holidays.
Graham Craven
Graham has served the Club in a variety of roles, having previously been on the Committee. He took up the role of Steward after the sad loss of his brother Phill.
After a well earned break away from work he is back as a valued Committee member.
He also looks after any minor maintenance required on the premises, drawing on his many years of experience in the buildings trade.
Mark Sherwood
Mark is more widely and affectionately known as Shikki. Previously working in the Civil Engineering sector, doctors orders now dictate that he cannot work so has given his time to the Club.
Shikki enjoys fishing when he gets the time and plays both crib and darts for the Club, as well as calling bingo on Sunday nights. He is also the Chairman of the Fareham Dart League Committee.
Paula Lumley
This is Paula's first year on the Committee and she is very excited about 'doing her bit'.
Living with Jack, she enjoys reading, shopping and spending time at the Club.
If she won the lottery, she would buy a nice house and have a couple of dogs. She would also donate money to some animal charities.
Ian Osborne
Ian has served the Club for many years and has enjoyed the positions of Committee, Vice-Chairman and Chairman.
He takes a keen interest in the Sunday night bingo often calling the numbers. Away from the Club, Ian is a heavy goods vehicle driver and spends many a night travelling along the roads of the south and the south-west.
Club Staff
Jackie Crabb
Jackie is our Club Treasurer and previously served on the Committee. Following the retirement of our Steward Graham, Jackie has now taken on the role as Bar Manager, heading up the team front of house.
She oversees the rest of the team and ensures that the bar remains fully stocked at all times.
She is a keen darts player and captains and plays for one of the DOC’s teams.

Mick Suggett BEM
Part of the bar team, Mick served for 24 years in the Royal Navy, ending as a Chief Petty Officer and was awarded the British Empire Medal for military service worthy of recognition by the Crown.
Married to Barbara for over 47 years, Mick enjoys snooker and fishing.
If he won the lottery, it would definitely see them on a round the world cruise.
Sue Skeet
Sue started work aged 16 and has been involved in a variety of industries including retail, as a hairdresser and later in the care industry. In 1989 Sue started training as a SEN but after six months found she was expecting her twin boys. Staying in the care industry until the sad loss of her Mum, she decided enough was enough. Working at the DOC she displays good communication skills and enjoys the banter with the members.
A lottery win would see her pay off the mortgage, take a nice holiday and buy a new car. She would then give some money to charity.
Geoff Palmer
Geoff has been by far, our longest serving member of staff with over 25 years of service. He is also a maintenance worker in a day centre.
Married to Pat, he enjoys gardening and walking. Geoff also builds tables and benches as DIY projects.
Laura Osborne
Laura is a qualified hairdresser and has used her skills in the Club for charity events.
Her ideal job would be as a holiday park entertainer and she says her hobbies are eating and sleeping.
She isn’t much fussed about winning the lottery as she says she would probably only waste it anyway.
Emma Wright
Emma is part of the bar team having joined us recently. She has been in the hospitality sector for approximately 8 years.
She has two boys whom she adores and she loves to go on camping trips and exploring.
She says if she ever won the lottery, she would buy a Volkswagon and go travelling.
Kieran Hibberd
Kieran is a newer member of our staff but has settled in and got to grips with the job very quickly.
When he is not working, he likes to relax and socialise with his friends and family at the DOC and have a great laugh and a chat about the week they've had.
If he won the lottery he would buy a big house with some land and also give some money to charity and his friends.
Bev Crockford
Outside of the Club, Bev looks after a menagerie of animals. She has one large horse and nine mini Shetland ponies. In addition to this, she has dogs, chickens, ducks and geese.
If she won the lottery, Bev says she would donate to animal sanctuaries, especially those that helped with animal depression. She would also send money to people she knows in The Gambia who have nothing at all.
Sam Osborne
Sam is a member of our cleaning team and, with Emma, does a superb job of keeping the Club clean and tidy.
Married to Ian for over 28 years, she says she has no time for hobbies.
She holds two jobs and her passion is the satisfaction of a good job well done. If she won the lottery, a new car would definitely be on the cards.
Emma Beaven
Emma works alternate shifts to Sam and also ensures the cleanliness of our Club.
Her hobbies include jet-skiing and walking her dog Tyson.
Married to Darren with three daughters, Emma says if she won the lottery she would definitely buy a villa somewhere lovely and hot.
